Basketball Recap: East View Gets the Win

East View picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 34-23 victory over the Breckenridge Buckaroos.

Despite the loss, Breckenridge still got an impressive performance from Karsyn Smalley, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. That's the most rebounds Smalley has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruthie Valdez, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

East View's win bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Breckenridge, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.

East View will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: East View has lost six straight at home (dating back to last season), while Elgin has lost five on the road. As for Breckenridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-40 win against Dublin on the 3rd.
