Keansburg hadn't done well against Long Branch recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Wednesday. The Titans blew past the Green Wave 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won four matchups by ten  runs or more  so far this season.
 Mikey Clayton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   eight  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with five  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Shawn Retta, who  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with five  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  triple. That  triple was  his first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Michael Burke, who  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
The  win made it two in a row for Keansburg and  bumps their season record up to 8-1. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6  runs in those games. As for Long Branch, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record  this season.
Keansburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against Long Branch: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
