Baseball Game Preview: Mapleton Mounties vs. Oberlin Phoenix

The Mapleton Mounties will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Oberlin Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Wednesday, Mapleton came up short against Loudonville and fell 8-4.

Mapleton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Sword, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another was Tyson Welch, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Oberlin unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Danbury on Tuesday.
