Volleyball Recap: Edgewood Mustangs vs. Speedway Sparkplugs
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Edgewood walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Speedway Sparkplugs on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.
Kelianys Rosario-Aguilar was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had seven digs and two aces. What's more, she posted four assists, the most she's had since back in September.
Rosario-Aguilar wasn't the only good servers: Edgewood was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. The Mustangs are 10-3 when they serve at least ten aces.
Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 17-15. As for Speedway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season.
Edgewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Indianapolis Washington on the 18th. Speedway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
