Softball Game Preview: Northampton Konkrete Kids vs. Whitehall Zephyrs

The Northampton Konkrete Kids will head out on the road to face off against the Whitehall Zephyrs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northampton will be strutting in after a win while Whitehall will be coming in after a loss.

Northampton will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Allentown Central Catholic on Tuesday. The Konkrete Kids blew past the Vikings 20-3. The match marked the Konkrete Kids' most dominant victory of the season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Whitehall and Nazareth Area meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Zephyrs took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Zephyrs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Whitehall saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Laub, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Laub hit this season.

Whitehall's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Northampton, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Northampton came up short against Whitehall in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Konkrete Kids avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
