Baseball Game Preview: Christopher Cougars vs. Willow Glen Rams

The Christopher Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Willow Glen Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Christopher 3.1, Willow Glen 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While Christopher's win against Gilroy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mustangs 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Willow Glen entered their tilt with Cupertino on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Pioneers 10-3.

Gavin Kamita looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Matthew Kuhl was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marco Madsen, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Willow Glen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.

Christopher's record now sits at 12-7. As for Willow Glen, their record is now 13-6.
