Recap: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Tippecanoe Valley Vikings
On Friday, it was a hard-fought game, but Morgan Township had to settle for a 47-44 loss against Tippecanoe Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Morgan Township has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Morgan Township still got an impressive performance from Keagen Holder, who scored 15 points. Holder scored a full 34.1% of Morgan Township's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Grieger, who scored six points.
Tippecanoe Valley found their leader in underclassman Stephen Akase, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. Akase set a new season high mark in points with 22. Another player making a difference was Kyler Johnson, who scored eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Morgan Township and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan Township and North Judson-San Pierre will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Judson-San Pierre presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Morgan Township in Indiana (North Judson-San Pierre is ranked 59th, while Morgan Township is ranked 234th). As for Tippecanoe Valley, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Glenn at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th.
