Football Recap: Martavion Pratcher Leads Mitchell's Defense on Friday

The Mitchell Tigers lost to the Northpoint Christian Trojans on the road by a 47-30 margin on Friday.

Even if they lost, Mitchell's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Northpoint Christian's QB won't forget Martavion Pratcher anytime soon given he sacked him twice. The game marked Pratcher's first with multiple sacks this season. Mitchell received some extra help from Xayvier Brown, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Cooper Smith went supernova For Northpoint Christian., rushing for 186 yards and four scores on only eight carries. Smith was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Justin Henderson was another key player, rushing for 151 yards and one TD while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Northpoint Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will welcome Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northpoint Christian, they will be playing at home against St. Benedict at Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
