Basketball Recap: Josiah Irwin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Holly

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McClave, Kit Carson was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Holly Wildcats, sneaking past 38-36. For Kit Carson, this counts as revenge for the 49-10 victory Holly walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Kit Carson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josiah Irwin, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Framel, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Kit Carson's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Holly, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Kit Carson will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cheraw at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th. Holly will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Rocky Ford at 4:00 p.m. on January 7th.
