After a string of eight wins, Mauldin's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the J.L. Mann Patriots who were credited with the win. The J.L. Mann Patriots got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Mauldin Mavericks' four. Having soared to a lofty 12 goals in the game before, Mauldin's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mauldin's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for J.L. Mann, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1-1.
