Softball Recap: Superior Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Superior waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Hayden Lobos with a sharp 20-6 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

Stephanie Lopez and Faith Denogean did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Denogean went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Lopez has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lessenia Ramirez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.

Superior's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Hayden, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.

Looking ahead, Superior will host Fort Thomas at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayden, they will head out to face off against Bisbee at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lobos will need to watch out since the Pumas have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
