Basketball Game Preview: Indian Valley Braves vs. New Philadelphia Quakers

The Indian Valley Braves will venture away from home to square off against the New Philadelphia Quakers at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. New Philadelphia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Indian Valley, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Indian Valley against Meadowbrook as the team secured a 68-27 win. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 32 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, New Philadelphia's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (56-49), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Minutemen are ranked 81st).

New Philadelphia's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Indian Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Indian Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against New Philadelphia in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Indian Valley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
