Basketball Game Preview: South Charlotte Thunder vs. Forsyth Home Educators Hawks

The South Charlotte Thunder will face off against the Forsyth Home Educators Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Charlotte saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were dealt a 59-10 defeat at the hands of Covenant Day. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Lions are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Forsyth Home Educators played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against South Guilford HomeSchool, falling 53-30. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

Forsyth Home Educators' defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for South Charlotte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

South Charlotte skirted past Forsyth Home Educators 37-34 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will South Charlotte repeat their success, or does Forsyth Home Educators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
