Softball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Roosevelt and New Paltz, and New Paltz kept the tradition alive. The Presidents lost 14-2 to the Huguenots on Thursday. The Presidents were not able to make up for their defeat to the Huguenots from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Abigale Greenspan made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for New Paltz, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Roosevelt will square off against rival Marlboro Central at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, New Paltz is set to take on their familiar foe Pine Plains at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
