Baseball Recap: Frankton Wins Going Away Against Cowan

After losing to Cowan the last time they met, Frankton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles put the hurt on the Blackhawks with a sharp 16-6 win on Saturday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Brady Carmack made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Brayden Peters was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Frankton is undefeated when Peters posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jarrett Morris, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Frankton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .528. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Frankton's record now sits at 13-10. As for Cowan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Frankton and Cowan are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Eagles will take on Sheridan at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cowan, they will challenge Wes-Del at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blackhawks are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
