Basketball Recap: Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy Eagles were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-39 to the Navajo Pine Warriors. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Navajo Pine to victory were Riley Dawes and Mikayla Baker. Dawes dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 boards, while Baker dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 boards. The game was Dawes' third in a row with at least ten points.

Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Navajo Pine, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy will host Hozho Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Navajo Pine, they will take on Wingate in a tournament on Thursday.
