Basketball Recap: Sand Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sierra last Tuesday, Sand Creek came back down to earth. The Sand Creek Scorpions fell 63-55 to the Falcon Falcons on Thursday. The Scorpions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 63-58.

Despite the loss, Sand Creek still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Brantley, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 16 points and five boards.

Christian Bertholf continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Falcon, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Bertholf is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Jeremiah Potts was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Sand Creek's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Falcon, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Sand Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-47 defeat against The Classical Academy on the 11th. As for Falcon, they have also already played their next contest, a 61-37 win against Coronado on the 8th.
