Softball Game Preview: Montebello Oilers vs. Alhambra Moors

Montebello is 0-10 against Alhambra since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. Montebello will host Alhambra at 3:30 p.m.

Montebello is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellflower.

Meanwhile, Alhambra had just enough and edged out Ramona Convent 6-5 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Evelyn Estrada, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Layla Sanchez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Alhambra hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Alhambra's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Montebello, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Montebello couldn't quite get it done against Alhambra in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 11-6. Can Montebello avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
