Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Mt. Carmel had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Fallbrook Warriors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-0 back in April.

Clara Carter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Riley Ronald was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Mt. Carmel's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Fallbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will take on Ramona at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fallbrook, they will square off against Escondido at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.08 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
