Willard had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They blew past the Branson Pirates 15-3. Considering the Tigers have won 35 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Willard pushed their record up to 40-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Branson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Willard beat Branson by a score of 10-0 later that day.
