Football Recap: Jones Piles Up the Points Against Crooked Oak

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Jones's strategy against Crooked Oak on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Longhorns blew the Ruf-Nex out of the water with a 42-0 final score. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Ruf-Nex are ranked 248th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jones' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Acyn Hansen, who threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes. Eli Debusk got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Jones' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games. As for Crooked Oak, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
