Basketball Recap: Calvin Christian Piles Up the Points Against Julian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvin Christian). They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 70-29 win over the Julian Eagles. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-10.

Calvin Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sawyer Goggin, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Goggin has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Lapka, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Calvin Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

The win got Calvin Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Julian, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvin Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Escondido Adventist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Julian, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Bonsall at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
