Basketball Recap: Royal Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Royal won the last time they faced Harmony School of Innovation, and Zaelyn Shelton did his part to make sure it happened again. The Royal Falcons took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 73-23 victory over the Harmony School of Innovation Wildcats thanks in part to Shelton, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. He also grabbed eight steals, which is notable because Royal is 3-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 10-16 otherwise.

Mikey Lang was another key player, going 9 for 18 en route to 18 points in addition to five assists and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Royal has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-17 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. As for Harmony School of Innovation, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-13.

Coming up, Royal will square off against Stafford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stafford will roll in looking for their 33rd straight win, something Royal surely won't give up without a fight. Harmony School of Innovation does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
