Softball Recap: High Point Academy Grizzlies vs. Spartanburg Vikings        
        
		
            
 It was a good run, but  High Point Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their  four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They suffered a  tough 12-2 loss at the hands of the Spartanburg Vikings. High Point Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Spartanburg apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in March.
  Logan Hurst was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Cadence Courtney, who  went 1-for-2 with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 On Spartanburg's side,  Logan Woodruff made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits. Woodruff was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Olivia Lister was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and a  double.  Kennedy Woodruff was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 High Point Academy's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 10-7. As for Spartanburg, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-12-1 record  this season.
 High Point Academy will head out on the road to  challenge  Blue Ridge at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Spartanburg, they have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Blacksburg at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
