Softball Recap: Texas Wind Has No Trouble Against Meridian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tolar, Texas Wind was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Meridian Yellowjackets with a sharp 22-5 win. That's more bragging rights for Texas Wind, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anna Cessnum and Madelyne Morgan did most of the damage at the plate: Cessnum scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Morgan scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caydence Kaddatz, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Texas Wind always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .545 that Meridian posted.

The victory got Texas Wind back to even at 1-1. As for Meridian, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Texas Wind will challenge Dublin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Meridian, they will face off against Eastern Hills at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
