The Cloverdale Eagles will take on the Lower Lake Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cloverdale has four straight victories, Lower Lake has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Cloverdale and Kelseyville had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 16-7 win on Friday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by nine runs or more this season.
Camryn Bird made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

In other pitching news, Charlotte Burchett looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Ronni Hatcher was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Cloverdale hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.
Lower Lake couldn't beat Clear Lake on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Trojans lost 17-7 to the Cardinals.
Kierstyn Lambert made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Heidi Ortega, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Cloverdale pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Lower Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Lower Lake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cloverdale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Lower Lake, though, as they've only averaged .347. Will they be able to contain Cloverdale's hitters?
Cloverdale was able to grind out a solid victory over Lower Lake in their previous matchup back in April, winning 7-3. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
