Softball Game Preview: Crittenden County Rockets vs. Ballard Memorial Bombers

The Crittenden County Rockets will face off against the Ballard Memorial Bombers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Crittenden County didn't have quite enough to beat Union County and fell 7-6. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while Ballard Memorial put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Murray. The Bombers were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

J Riggs and T Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Riggs got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Williams went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Williams has posted over her last eight games. A Alexander was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Ballard Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Murray only posted an OBP of .062.

Ballard Memorial's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Crittenden County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14.
