Recap: Patterson Mill vs. River Hill Hawks
It was a good run, but Patterson Mill unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Monday. They lost to River Hill on the road by a decisive 62-45 margin. Patterson Mill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as River Hill apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2016.
Despite the loss, Patterson Mill had strong showings from Rylie Madsen, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Kiley Wilhelm, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Wilhelm is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Riley Crain was another key contributor, scoring two points along with four steals.
Patterson Mill's loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for River Hill, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Patterson Mill will face off against Havre de Grace at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Havre de Grace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday. River Hill's road trip will continue as they head out to face Marriotts Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. Marriotts Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while River Hill is ranked 55th).
