Basketball Recap: Caleb Schott's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Holy Family over Broomfield

Holy Family lost against Broomfield back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Holy Family Tigers fell 71-63 to the Broomfield Eagles. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Holy Family lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caleb Schott, who went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and five boards. Roman Elliott was another key player, putting up 16 points and six assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broomfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Lapham, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 20 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Lapham a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Wadlington, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 assists.

Holy Family's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Broomfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Holy Family wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-48 victory against Skyline on the 14th. As for Broomfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-64 win against Legacy on the 14th.
