PACT Charter extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They came up short against the Spectrum Sting, falling 21-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sting this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in April.
PACT Charter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zac Grawey, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Asher Nyquist also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
As for Spectrum, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
On Spectrum's side, Joshua Jeske made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jeske has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Isaac Shopek looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Tyler Simonovich was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Another player making a difference was Tony Ambrose, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Looking ahead, PACT Charter will head out to take on Mayer Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spectrum, they will welcome Hinckley-Finlayson at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
