Basketball Recap: Shipley Takes a Loss

Shipley came up into this matchup off a tough 24-point loss last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Atlantic Christian Cougars by a score of 62-59 on Wednesday. Shipley's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Atlantic Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Stokes, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. Stokes' afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Costello, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Shipley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Atlantic Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Shipley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-23 defeat against Haverford School on the 6th. As for Atlantic Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-33 loss against Westtown on the 5th.
