Recap: Carl Albert Titans vs. Collinsville Cardinals
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Carl Albert Titans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 52-14 victory over Collinsville. The win was just business as usual for Carl Albert, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Kevin Sperry, who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Robinson, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the defeat, Collinsville saw an underclassman step up: Scott Rigby rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
Carl Albert's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Collinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Carl Albert will square off against Bishop McGuinness at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop McGuinness is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Collinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
