Recap: Wayland Warriors vs. Hopedale Blue Raiders
The Wayland Warriors are still winless after their contest against the Hopedale Blue Raiders on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Wayland fell just short of Hopedale by a score of 49-46. Wayland lost against Hopedale in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 66-42 score last time.
Patrick Madden was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points for Hopedale. The matchup was Madden's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robbie Manning, who scored six points.
Wayland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hopedale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Wayland will head out on the road to face off against Holbrook at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Holbrook presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wayland in Massachusetts (Holbrook is ranked 91st, while Wayland is ranked 203rd). As for Hopedale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sutton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
