Softball Recap: Frontier Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tri-County, Frontier was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Faith Christian Eagles as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their one-run performance the match before.

Summer Kremer made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Frontier got a massive performance out of Ashlyn Minniear, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave Minniear a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Govert, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

Frontier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Frontier's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for Faith Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Coming up, Frontier will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Twin Lakes at 5:00 p.m. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Faith Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on North White at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
