Basketball Game Preview: Huntsville Eagles vs. Gentry Pioneers

The Huntsville Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Gentry Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gentry took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Huntsville, who comes in off a win.

Huntsville took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 65-17 victory over Green Forest. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Tigers are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Gentry came up short against Pea Ridge on Tuesday and fell 61-54.

Huntsville pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Gentry, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Huntsville was able to grind out a solid victory over Gentry in their previous matchup on January 7th, winning 50-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huntsville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
