Football Recap: Tulare Western Starts off Right with Win over El Diamante + How To Watch

Tulare Western took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the El Diamante Miners 54-28. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won eight in a row.

Tulare Western's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Preston Seechan, who rushed for 141 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, and also caught one TD. Those 141 rushing yards gave Seechan a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was JUJU Hernandez, who threw for 325 yards and five touchdowns.

El Diamante's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nolan (Gauge) Rivas, who threw for 81 yards and a pair of TDs, and Andrew Alvarado, who rushed for 95 yards and one score.

Tulare Western and El Diamante could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Mustangs will take on Central Valley Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (339 vs. 90). Meanwhile, El Diamante (ranked 681st) will meet Tulare Union (ranked 154th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
