Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Aurora Greenmen. The Rough Riders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Greenmen earlier this season, when they won 59-51.

Despite the loss, Roosevelt still got an impressive performance from Jaden Dennison, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points and seven rebounds. The contest was Dennison's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Peeps, who posted seven points and 13 boards.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Aurora, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on Tallmadge at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Tallmadge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for Aurora, they will challenge Kenston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kenston is on a five-game streak of home losses, Aurora a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change.
