Softball Recap: Elk Grove Comes Up Short

Elk Grove fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Rolling Meadows on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6. The Grenadiers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Jamie Wirtz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Elk Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Rolling Meadows, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-18.

Elk Grove has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Prospect on the 16th. As for Rolling Meadows, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-2 loss against Buffalo Grove on the 16th.
