Soccer Game Preview: Commerce vs. Flowery Branch

The Commerce Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Flowery Branch Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Flowery Branch took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Commerce, who comes in off a win.

Commerce took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Rabun County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Commerce's defense stepped up to hand Rabun County a 1-0 shutout on Friday. Belle Gary had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Commerce.

Meanwhile, Flowery Branch's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost 5-0 to Mountain View. While losing is never fun, Flowery Branch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Mountain View are ranked 90th).

Commerce's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Flowery Branch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season.
