League recap: Belleview bests Wildwood in blowout

5A District 5 recap Oct. 16, 2012

Belleview took down Wildwood 41-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Erik Pitts threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 19 yards in the win.

The Rattlers /Diamo led 5A District 5 in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on the Wildcats. Pitts in the win.

Quvonta Williams was the best wideout in the league this week as Belleview bested Wildwood. Williams tallied three receptions for 107 yards. Dyantre Colston helped Belleview's passing attack out by catching one ball for two yards.

Dallas Baldner was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 182 yards as Crystal River beat Matthew LaBranche's team. Destin Dawsy also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.

Crystal River's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pirates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Joe Lafleur has thrown for 659 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Sam Franklin has 17 catches for 279 yards. Baldner leads the league in rushing with 682 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Pirates take on Eastside. Crystal River is currently in first, while the Rams are in third.

The Rattlers /Diamo made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,360 from 9,136. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-21 victory over the Wildcats last week.
