Basketball Recap: Parker Comes Up Short

Parker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss. They fell 46-34 to the Carver Montgomery Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Wolverines are ranked 91st).

Despite the loss, Parker still got an impressive performance from Teralyn Hill, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. That was a full 47.1% of Parker's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamila Dabney, who earned five points.

Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Carver Montgomery, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parker will challenge Homewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Homewood will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Parker surely won't give up without a fight. Carver Montgomery has already played their next match (against Enterprise), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
