After a string of eight wins, Chapman's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenville Red Raiders. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15.
Rowan Raney paced Chapman's offense, picking up six kills. Raney got some help from Ashley Lee and her 14 assists. Fallon Martin controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Chapman's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Greenville, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Looking ahead, Chapman will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lexington at 5:30 p.m. As for Greenville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Cardinal Newman on the 6th.
