Softball Game Preview: Brawley Wildcats vs. Holtville Vikings

For the second straight game, Brawley will face off against Holtville. The Wildcats will welcome the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Brawley's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Holtville 11-0. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

The result came thanks to Daniella Yescas's shutout, as she gave up just a hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Roslyn Rubio was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last five matches. Another player making a difference was Kiana Adame, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Brawley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Holtville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
