Baseball Recap: Evergreen Find Success

Evergreen came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Seaside Seagulls 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Plainsmen have posted since March 25, 2025.

Ryno Catabay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Takeo Wong was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Malachi Lewis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Evergreen's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Seaside, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Evergreen will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Seagulls: the pair will be back at it again later today.
