Soccer Game Preview: Pioneer vs. McAllen

Pioneer is 1-9 against McAllen since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pioneer Diamondbacks will square off against the McAllen Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Pioneer didn't have quite enough to beat McAllen Memorial and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, McAllen kept a clean sheet against Sharyland last Tuesday. They beat the Rattlers by a goal, winning 1-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Rattlers: they've now won six in a row.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for McAllen, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Pioneer was able to grind out a solid victory over McAllen in their previous meeting back in January, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pioneer since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
