Softball Recap: Owen County Takes a Loss

Owen County's last matchup with Shelby County could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Rebels lost 19-6 to the Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 on April 12th.

Abigayle Dempsey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

Owen County has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Shelby County, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.

Coming up, Owen County will head out on the road to square off against Gallatin County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelby County, they will be playing at home against Spencer County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
