Fairmont Senior got themselves on the board against Charleston Catholic on Wednesday, but Charleston Catholic never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Irish with a sharp 10-0 win. The Polar Bears' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Logan Canfield made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Canfield was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Sammons, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Brayden Gorby was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.

Fairmont Senior's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Charleston Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairmont Senior will head out to face off against Lewis County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Polar Bears are facing the Minutemen at the right time seeing as the Minutemen are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Charleston Catholic, they will head out on the road to challenge Wyoming East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Irish's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
