Smyrna is 8-2 against LaVergne since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Smyrna will face off against LaVergne at 6:00 p.m. Smyrna has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Smyrna came up short against Shelbyville Central on Saturday, falling 13-3.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, LaVergne's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 10-0 to Providence Christian Academy. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Wolverines' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

LaVergne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Uribio, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Uribio hit this season.

Smyrna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for LaVergne, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Smyrna skirted past LaVergne 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Smyrna since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
