Basketball Recap: Jackson Chandler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hamilton over Wayne County

Hamilton saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 76-60 bruising from the Wayne County Wildcats.

Several Aggies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Chandler, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 19 points. Jack Cantrell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Wayne County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayman Camfield, who shot 44% from the field on his way to 24 points along with five boards and five steals. The contest was Camfield's fourth in a row with at least 24 points. Another player making a difference was Kace Bryant, who went 7-for-13 en route to 19 points.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Wayne County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Hamilton will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brooks at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Wayne County, they will be taking part in a tournament against Cascade at 2:30 p.m. on the 29th.
