Basketball Recap: Sparta Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fruitport

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 60-44 to the Fruitport Trojans. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Izabel Hanson-Wilbur had an outrageously good game for Fruitport as she dropped a triple-double with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 steals. Hanson-Wilbur is becoming a predictor of Fruitport's success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 3-1 (and 4-14 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kenzie Pate, who posted nine points.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Fruitport, their victory bumped their record up to 7-15.
